We talk before tilting the chair back
You do not start the visit flat on your back under a bright lamp. We spend the first few minutes sitting upright, listening to what has been bothering you and noting any past dental sensitivities.

Most people do not mind looking after their teeth. They just dislike feeling rushed, lectured, or surprised by a bill at the end. Here, your appointment starts sitting upright in conversation. We take clear photographs of your teeth, show you what we see on a screen, and agree on a plan before any treatment begins.
“Good dental care takes time. When a dentist explains what is happening in plain language and checks in before moving ahead, sitting in the chair stops feeling stressful.”
Being nervous at the dentist usually comes from not knowing what will happen next, or worrying that something will hurt. We structure appointments around four practical habits so you always know where things stand.
You do not start the visit flat on your back under a bright lamp. We spend the first few minutes sitting upright, listening to what has been bothering you and noting any past dental sensitivities.
Instead of asking you to take our word for a hidden cavity or cracked filling, we take close-up camera photos and review them with you on the monitor. We tell you plainly what needs attention soon and what can simply be watched.
We place topical numbing gel on the gum before any local anaesthetic and wait until the tooth is completely numb before starting. If you want to rinse, ask a question, or take a breather, just raise your left hand and we stop right away.
If you need follow-up work, we give you a written plan showing the appointments required and the exact fee for each step. You can take it home, think it over, and book when you are ready.
Some patients come in for a six-month scaling and polish. Others book because a molar started aching over the weekend, or because they want to fix a chipped front tooth. Here is how we handle our main areas of care.
“It has been a couple of years since my last cleaning, or my gums bleed a little when I brush.”
If you have put off a checkup for a long time, we will not lecture you about flossing. We start by checking your teeth, gums, and existing fillings, then use a warm-water ultrasonic scaler to clear away hardened tartar and tea or coffee staining. If a small cavity needs attention, we repair it with tooth-coloured composite that blends in with your natural enamel.
“I have a chipped front edge, uneven spacing, or yellowed enamel that I want to tidy up naturally.”
Cosmetic dental work looks best when nobody can tell a dentist was involved. Often, small gaps or worn edges can be repaired in a single visit using conservative composite bonding without drilling down healthy tooth structure. For crowded or crooked teeth, we take a 3D optical scan and plan removable clear aligners or braces that move teeth gradually into alignment.
“A back tooth hurts when I chew, an old crown came loose, or I need to replace a missing tooth.”
When a tooth is keeping you awake, our first job is getting you out of pain. We take a small digital X-ray to find the source of the infection, numb the area thoroughly, and clean out damaged nerve tissue using quiet rotary instruments. Once the tooth settles, we protect it with a custom zirconia or ceramic crown, or plan a dental implant if a tooth cannot be saved.
Choose any service below to ask Riya what the appointment involves.
Routine exams, digital X-rays, ultrasonic scaling, gum care, and composite fillings.
Thorough local anaesthesia, rotary root canal cleaning, and protective ceramic crowns.
Enamel-safe bleaching, single-visit composite edge bonding, and porcelain veneers.
3D optical impressions, removable clear aligners, and ceramic or metal braces.
CBCT-planned titanium implants, wisdom tooth assessments, and toothache relief.
A lot of physical discomfort at the dentist comes from outdated equipment, like rubbery impression trays or tiny X-ray films that poke the roof of your mouth. We use digital imaging and hospital-grade sterilisation across every room.
When we make a crown, nightguard, or set of clear aligners, we pass a small camera wand over your teeth for two minutes. It builds an accurate 3D model on screen without a mouthful of setting impression paste.
We only take radiographs when we need to check between teeth or below the gumline. Digital sensors use much lower radiation than film and bring the image up immediately, so your dentist can point out the exact root or filling with you.
After each appointment, reusable instruments and handpieces go through ultrasonic cleaning and a Class-B vacuum autoclave cycle. They remain sealed in dated, indicator-stamped pouches until we open them at your chair.
Natural tooth enamel is worth keeping. Whenever a small chip, early cavity, or worn filling can be repaired conservatively rather than crowned or extracted, we will tell you so.
General checkups, root canal treatments, crowns, and orthodontic consultations all happen under one roof. Because your clinical notes, photographs, and comfort preferences stay in one record, you do not have to repeat your story each time you visit.
We set aside 45 minutes for new patients so nobody has to watch the clock. Unless you are in pain and ask for immediate relief, the first appointment is about getting a clear picture of your dental health.

Practical answers about how appointments, pain relief, and treatment estimates work. If your question is not covered here, you can ask Riya in the chat window.
Tell us when you book or as soon as you sit down. We begin the appointment with the chair upright so we can talk first. Before any procedure, we explain what you will feel and hear, use numbing gel before local anaesthetic, and stop the moment you raise your hand for a break.
The toothache before a root canal is what hurts; the procedure itself is done to stop that pain. We numb the tooth thoroughly and test that the anaesthetic is working before we begin. During treatment, it feels very much like having a deeper filling placed.
